William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English poet and playwright.
His early life
He was born and raised in Stratford- upon - Avon. On 26 April 1564. He was the third of eight children and the eldest surviving son. He was educated at the King's New School in Strainford, a free school chartered in the 1553 about a quarter of a mile from his home. The school would have provided an intensive education in Latin grammer and the classics.
His life as a writer.
It is not know exactly when he began writing. Several of his plays were on the London stage by 1592. He surviving works consists of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, 2 long narrative poems and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living languge and are perfomed more than those of any other playwright.
He producted most of his know works between 1589 and 1613, such as Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth.In his last phrase, he wrote tragicomedies.
His personal life
At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathayway, who born him three children.- a daughter and twins.
His final years
After 1606-1607, he wrote fewer plays. He last plays were collaborations with John Fletcher. He retired to Strainford. He died in 1616.
